World Series of Rap Battles™
Official Contest Rules and Regulations
Part One: General
A. Eligibility
1. Each State of the United States of America, as well as of every sovereign nation or nationstate
on earth may submit one official authorized entry into the World Series of Rap Battles,
Championship Round. Each such entry must be licensed by HUGE-D™, as a “The Next BIG
Thing™ Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is™ World Series of Rap Battles™ licensee.
Each entry must, at the time of entry be fully paid-up, and in total compliance with all
appropriate licensee agreements and these Rules and Regulations.
2. State Licenses must be purchased for three (3) years, and may be automatically renewed after
the initial term, for an additional three year term, under essentially the same terms and
conditions as the original. HUGE-D reserves the sole right to change renewal conditions at
any time prior to renewal, and to refuse to renew any license for any reason whatsoever,
without limitation.
3. The entity granted an Official License for any state or nation-state has the right to submit a relicensing
plan to HUGE-D within 30 days of receiving its authorized license. This relicensing
plan must follow the general coverage goals expressed by HUGE-D, and agreed
upon by the Licensee, and must provide for strict adherence to these Rules and Regulations.
4. Any individual, company, or legal entity may be eligible for licensure. However, licenses are
granted on a first-come, first-served basis, to any legal entity ready, willing, and able to pay
the appropriate license fees, and demonstrating the willingness and capability of advancing
the interests of the Contest throughout the State in which the license is granted.
B. Contestant Eligibility
1. All independent rappers, whether signed or unsigned are eligible, except those who have
released an album or CD that has sold 500,000 units or more (Gold or better).
2. Major label artists (those who have released an album or CD that has sold 500,000 units or
more are eligible only at the State and World Series Levels.
3. A contestant may enter as many local ciphers as he or she can afford.
4. Groups are ineligible, but can be represented at the $450 level. Any contestant representing a
group implies a “private cipher”, which is exempt from the videotaping requirements for all
contests. The winner of a private cipher must represent a group throughout the contest. Any
such group must consist of not more than 9 members, otherwise it MUST make more than one
entry at the $450 level. The number of entries must correspond with the number of members
divided by nine. Any remainder creates another mandatory entry. Thus, a group with 28
members would be required to make four (4) entries.
C. Geography
1. Each State shall be divided into nine (9) regions.
2. Each region shall consist of one larger city and its surrounding counties and towns, so that a
region consists of thirty-six (36) or more sub-regions.
3. Regional and sub-regional licenses are to be sold to approved organizations or entities for
market rates.
4. Each sub-region may be divided into as many sub parts as is feasible. Each such sub-subregion
must be registered with HUGE-D and its contests must conform with the Official
Rules and Regulations of the World Series of Rap Battles™.
5. Every individual, organization, or entity granted a license must sign the HUGE-D Brand
Name Licensing Agreement for The World Series of Rap Battles, and forward an executed
copy to the HUGE-D offices within 24 hours for approval.
6. There shall be battles for Titles at all entry levels.
D. Contest Format
1. Every Rapper on the globe, to be considered legitimate, must be street tested and battle
proven.
2. The way to do that is to enter World Series of Rap Battles events in their communities.
3. Every contest participant must put his or her money where his or her mouth is, and pay an
entry fee of fifty dollars ($50.00).
4. Each contestant must purchase or sell ten tickets to the original rap-off.
5. Every contestant must complete and submit an Official Put Your Money Where Your Mouth
Is Participant Sign-Up Form.
6. Photos, bios and video clips of every contestant will be filed on the HUGE-D website
Rappers’ Registry.
7. The contest will consist of four (4) rounds in each state or nation-state.
i. Round One: Neighborhood, Block, or Street Level also known as Level One.
ii. Round Two: Community, District, Project, or Ward Level, a.k.a. Level Two
iii. Round Three: Borough, Town, City, or County level, a.k.a. Level Three
iv. Round Four: State Level
8. Battles will consist of ciphers consisting of nine (9) contestants.
9. The names of each of the battlers in a cipher will be placed in a hat or some other container.
10. The first name to be pulled out of the container is the Lucky 1.
11. The Lucky 1 is the 1st finalist.
12. The remaining 8 contestants must battle until there is one of them left to battle the Lucky 1 in
the semi-finals for that level. The rounds continue until winners are picked at each level.
13. At each level, contestants must purchase or sell a commensurate amount of tickets:
i. Block Level: 10 Tickets
ii. Neighborhood Level 10 Tickets
iii. District Level ($450) 50 Tickets
iv. Borough (city) Level ($4,050) 250 Tickets
v. State Level ($36,450) 500 Tickets
vi. World Series Level ($300,000) 500 Tickets
14. Winners at each level must enter the next level contest. Any contestant who is unable or
unwilling to move up to the next level will be replaced by the finalist the contestant defeated
in the preceding round.
15. The winnings from one level are the entry fee for the next level.
16. Forty percent (40%) of the “dead money” on each level shall be spl it among the top three
contestants on that level.
17. Forty-five percent (45) of the dead money shall be allocated to the promoter Licensed by
HUGE-D for the corresponding jurisdiction.

2. Barring technical difficulties, every World Series of Rap Battles event must be videotaped in
its entirety.
