The long wait is over as DJ Skizz's debut album, BQE: The Brooklyn-Queens Experience, is finally available on vinyl..and then some. Once again we've pulled out all the stops or this release, including possible our best picture disc to date, instrumental versions, and an exclusive bonus 45 featuring two hot tracks from Your Old Droog.

This limited edition release is shipping early and exclusively from Slice Of Spice ahead of it's 2.27.15 street date. Be sure to grab one of the bundle sets before they're gone.



BQE is available for the first time on wax through this limited edition press run of 500 copies. This includes the straight flat black plastic, special edition blue vinyl, and an insane picture disc.



DJ Skizz services up that good ol' Boom bap on the BQE so we couldn't pass up the opportunity to press very limited copies of the instrumentals on black and red vinyl.

Scheiben sind nach verspäteten Release da. Hat sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt!!

Yep, meiner Meinung nach besser als das Rays of the sun Album. Sind auch ordentlich gepresste CD's und die Sound Qualität ist auch okay….

Das bisher im Original nur auf Promo-Kassette aufgetauchte Young Zee Album "Musical Meltdown" wird - nachdem es auf Vinyl offiziell schon von Dope Folks veröffentlicht wurde - nunmehr auch in einer offiziellen CD Version kommen:

Erscheinen wird es bei Gentleman's Relief Records, dem Label von dem australischen Produzenten Debonair P, das auch schon das Omniscence Album The Raw Factor veröffentlicht hat...

Covertechnisch wäre noch Luft nach oben gewesen, aber das stellt man sich natürlich gern ins Regal nach all den Jahren

Young Zee Album war gestern bei mir schon da (hhv.de-Bestellung), lohnt sich absolut. Keine Ahnung warum The Source damals nur 2,5 Punkte verteilt hat, das Ding brennt schon ganz ordentlich...

Wenn man sieht, was aus ihm geworden ist, lernt man das Album natürlich nochmal neu schätzen.

Aber ich kann schon verstehen dass es 1996 nicht groß aufgefallen ist...

Kannst du vielleicht was zum Booklet sagen, taugt das was?

Klar gab es in der Zeit bessere Alben, aber da ist schon ein bißchen was drauf von dem sich andere Sachen die aktuell von irgendwelchen Labeln ausgegraben und als Highlight der 90er gepriesen werden eine Scheibe abschneiden könnten. Mir taugen die meisten Beats und Young Zee fand ich immer schon ein bißchen freaky als Rapper, aber das passt schon. Booklet ist aber jetzt nicht groß lohnenswert, steht eine etwas längere Geschichte zum Album drin und das wars. Ist auch nur 4 Seiten lang, d. h. einmal aufklappen und das war's. Da hätte man mehr draus machen können...

Zuviele Sachen können imho gar nicht ausgegraben werden, aber du hast schon recht damit dass die Ansprüche mit der Zeit immer mehr gesunken sind, was solche Fundstücke angeht... das Zee Album ist auf jeden Fall ein sinnvolles (Re-)Release



Ok thx, hatte nur gefragt, weil in der Beschreibung explizit was von "full liner notes about the making of and re-discovery of the album" stand...

Edit: Waren sogar nur 2 Mics in der Source

Easy Mo Bee & Emskee LP / Jorun Bombay EP

We're proud to announce two new vinyl releases on Fresh Pressings...



First up is an amazing LP by the legendary Easy Mo Bee & Emskee entitled 'Two For One'. These guys have been DJing together in NYC at the Recordnition parties for a while now, and it was a natural progression for a collaborative project, this evolved into 'Two For One'. Next up is another vinyl project from Nova Scotia's premier beat creator, the super talented Jorun Bombay. Jorun has been making waves recently with some of his production work for the likes of Ghettosocks, Teenburger, Phill Most Chill, The Rampagers etc... and of course his remixes. vielleicht hat ja jemand mitbekommen dass über LA Club resource memphis tape-reres veröffentlicht werden
als erstes gab es das shawty pimp / red dog comin real with it tape auf vinyl, mittlerweile ist es auch als kassette erhätlich
gegen den rere kann man auch nix sagen, sind sogar noch zwei bonustracks drauf die auf dem eigentlichen tape nicht mit drauf waren (aber definitiv von anderen tapes von shawty pimp stammen)
das ganze wurde in zusammenarbeit mit dem künstler rausgebracht und hat auch gute soundqualität
da kann man als fan des guten alten memphis pimpin style gerne ma sein geld (7 dollar fürs tape 20 für vynil checkt genesliquor) rein investieren

jetzt kam aber ein re-release von Lil Noids Paranoid Funk auf vinyl und das release ist leider nicht so gut ausgefallen
hier sind nämlich zwei tracks von einem anderen tape eines völlig anderen rappers drauf
es handelt sich um die tracks "hoe call" und "criminalistic knowledge" die auf dem "test my nutz" tape von low key veröffentlicht worden sind
das tape kam damals über tommys street smart label während lil noids tape von blackout produzeirt wurde und auch über ihn rauskam
wer sich ein bisschen in der memphis mp3 szene auskennt weiß dass diese version von lil noids tape vor ein paar jahrne im netz in den umlauf gebracht worden ist udn diese zwei songs nciht auf dem originalen tape drauf sind
nun dachte ich zuerst es würde sich um einen billigen bootleg handeln und hab mich auf discogs und youtube todesmäßig aufgeregt (diese bootleggerei killt mich da kann ich mich kaum beherrschen und werd fast ausfallend) bis sich jemand von LA club resource darauf gemeldet hat und gesagt hat dass das release in zusammenarbeit mti dem künstler kam
daher gehe ich stark davon aus dass lil noid denen einfach den erst besten netz rip verkauft hat
das cover ist aber gut gemacht und der sound scheint auch gut zu sein... das muss ich der fairness halber ja auch erwähnen
ich werd da aber definitiv kein geld für bezahlen obwohl ich schon sehr lange nach dem lil noid tape suche bzw. mir einen vernünftigen rerelease gewünscht hab
