Denke mal mit ner Pete Rock Produktion im Rücken wird das auch
besser klingen als ihr total verkacktes letztes Album.

Auf Chip Fu freu ich mich auch...hoffe er bringt auf dem Track seinen alten Fu-Schnick-Style.

Ja, sehe ich genauso. Bei Chip-Fu bin ich auch sehr gespannt, der Track könnte ja so eine Art Testbarometer sein ob es überhaupt nochmal was mit seinem angekündigten Comeback wird. Die LOTUG kann ich mir allerdings gar nicht auf einem relaxt jazzigen Pete Rock Beat vorstellen...

Dann hat er ebend mal keinen relaxt jazzigen Beat für den Track produziert...soll ja auch schon bei Pete Rock vorgekommen sein

trotzdem merkt man schon ne deutliche steigerung richtung popkacke bei den features..
und kein CL smooth feature

Pete Rock Nabs Redman, Raekwon For New CD

Rapper/producer Pete Rock, half of the '90s duo Pete Rock and CL Smooth, has wrapped a new album, "NY's Finest," due Feb. 26 via Nature Sounds.

Rock produced every track except for one Green Lantern-helmed cut. The first single is the Jim Jones-assisted "We Roll," while the B-side features tracks "Till I Retire" and "914", featuring Styles P and Sheek Louch...

Redman, Papoose, Little Brother and Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon and Masta Killa also make guest appearances. An iTunes version of the album containing a bonus track with Slum Village will also be available next month.

Rock's last album was 2004's "Soul Survivors II." The Bronx native has also lent his production skills to Nas, the Notorious B.I.G., Jeru The Damaja, Jim Jones, Talib Kweli, Redman and Ghostface.

Die Features auf dem Album sehen doch eigentlich ganz gut aus. Ehemalige Dipset Member auf seinen Beats kann ich mir zwar nur schwer vorstellen, ich lass mich aber gerne eines Besseren belehren. Und dieser Rell, ist das nicht ein Sänger?

ich dachte das wäre hell rell, hab den glaub ich schonma irgendwo gefeatured gesehen als "rell". könnt aber auch ein sänger sein, auf soul survivor 1 hatte er auch sogar zwei (sogar ziemlich bekannte) sängerinnen drauf.

Ich hab den schon öfters als Feature gesehen und ich glaub das war ein Sänger.

Hab mal kurz nachgeforscht, dürfte vielleicht der Rell von Roc-A-Fella bzw. Def Jam sein...

Pete Rock Releases "NY's Finest" LP This Month - February 1, 2008 By : JustinL

As we reported last month Legendary hip hop producer Pete Rock is set to release his first album in four years. Titled NY's Finest, the album will be released on February 26 2008 in a joint venture between Soul Survivor Records and NY based indie label Nature Sounds.

"I called it [NY’s Finest] because I feel like that’s me. I’m one of New York’s finest producers," he explains. In fact, not only is Pete Rock one of New York’s finest producers, but the album itself is one of Pete Rock’s finest creations. He even pays homage to the classic James Brown double-disc, "Hell", with the cover art.

Fans have already caught a glimpse of what to expect from NY’s Finest thanks to our downloadble tracks from last month including new single "We Roll" featuring Jim Jones, the b-side "Till I Retire" (in stores now) and "914" featuring Styles P and Sheek Louch. The record also features appearances by Wu-Tang’s Raekwon and Masta Killa, Papoose, Little Brother, and Redman. A special iTunes version of the album will also contain a bonus track with Slum Village.

Today we have the three downloadable tracks once again as a reminder of the long awaited album.

Pete Rock Tells NY Rappers "Stop Hating on the South"

Recently, Peter Phillips known to many as the legendary rapper and producer "Pete Rock," the one half of the critically acclaimed group Pete Rock & CL Smooth, spoke with hip-hop site SOHH and stated he thinks that New York rappers need to stop hating the South and get more on their grind...


"In rap media you hear people complaining about the South, then you hear people complain about New York," stated Pete Rock. "I'm in New York, so I hear the South beef, I'm like 'you all need to stop that and just get on your grind and do your music and stop sitting there bickering about who's wack, who's this, who's that."

After four years since last album "Soul Survivor II," Pete Rock returns to record stores next week with his new album "NY's Finest" and on the album there's, reportedly, a song entitled, "Til I Retire," where the rapper expresses his disapproval of the bashing that Southern hip-hop has received.

Featured artists on the album "NY's Finest" include Raekwon, Masta Killa, Papoose, Redman, Styles P, Jim Jones and others.

The album "NY's Finest" which was leaked back on February 20th, 2008 will be in stores February 26th, 2008.
