KRS-One & DJ Premier To Release "Return Of The Boom Bap" Album
In 1993, after five studio albums under the name of Boogie Down Productions, KRS-One released the first album under his solo name, Return of the Boom Bap. Released on Jive Records, the album debuted at #37 on the charts, and prompted hits like the Showbiz-produced "Sound Of Da Police" and the DJ Premier-produced "Outta Here." The Gang Starr beat-king produced seven of the album's 14 tracks, as its remembered as one of The Teacha's finest solo offerings.

Over 16 years later, DJ Premier and KRS-One are said to be at work at Return of the Boom Bip. The album, reportedly coming on Premier's Year Round Records, may serve as a sequel. During NBA All-Star Weekend, Premier spoke to 944 Magazine about the underway recordings.

"It's going to be one of the illest albums of 2010," said the legendary producer. Q-Tip, Grand Puba and Ice-T are already confirmed guests on the album. HipHopDX will keep you updated of more as it happens. The two last worked together on "Classic" with Kanye West, Rakim and Nas for a Nike campaign, and an update of "Criminal Minded" for a similar beverage campaign.

In related news, DJ Premier is presently working on albums with MC Eiht, NYGz, Big Shug and Nick Javas. Last year, KRS-One did a collaboration album with Black Moon's Buckshot called

DJ Premier: Year Round Records is my label for 5 years strong. We have a NYG’z album coming out. They have an album that came out in 2008 called Welcome to G-Dom, more of a compilation type of an album with me bringing up the body of it and they did their own thing while I was on tour with Big Shug of Gangstarr Foundation. We’re also working on his album called Blue Collar. Also Nick Javas from Jersey, his album is called Destination Unknown—a very good album. I got Khalil from Houston, Texas--Missouri City to be exact. His album is called My MC Name is.… I’m also doing my DJ Premier album, MC Eiht, and Young Maylay. Also KRS-One and DJ Premier, we’re doing Return of the Boom Bip. Not Boom Bap, Boom Bip. Shout out to Q-Tip who is already on it. Grand Puba and Ice-T who are on it, it’s going to be one of the illest album’s of 2010!

KRS-One & D.I.T.C.'s Showbiz To Release "Godsville" On February 15

The "Sound of da Police" collaborators reunite for a legendary Bronx, New York collaboration album.

In 1993, Showbiz produced one of KRS-One's biggest solo hits in "Sound of da Police." The two Bronx, New York natives worked on Kris' next two albums, as well as on Show & A.G.'s Full Scale album. Now, after several years apart, the two are planning to release a full collaborative album next month.

Godsville is releasing on February 15, 2011. This will be producer (and former emcee) Showbiz' first album since 2005's Diggin' In The Crates (D.I.T.C.) compilation, Street Talk. Last year, KRS-One released a collaborative EP with another Bronx legend, Just-Ice, a collaboration with Wu-Tang Clan producer True-Master, Meta-Historical, as well as digital album Back To The L.A.B.

Three songs have been released from the album to date, "The Truth" , "Show Power" and the Fred Da Godson-assisted, "We Love This" .
