Der Vers auf Serial Killer war die Mutter aller Bomben, aber richtig mies waren seine Alben jetzt auch nicht. Von seinem Debüt hat mit vor allem "Escape From Death Row" gefallen, sein bestes ist imho aber immer noch dieses hier:

Criticism

A point of criticism by many fans is RBX's heavy reliance on recycling of lyrics. A (likely incomplete) list of cases where has recycled lyrics can be found below. The numerous instances where he has used the lines "I drop bombs like Hiroshima" are omitted.

* "Our Time Is Now"- Verse repeated on "East Coast Killa, West Coast Killa"
* "Got To Getcha"- Verse repeated on "Return of Unknown"
* "The Narrator"- Verse repeated on "Jus...Murda!" and "Killers In The West"
* "Oh No!"- Verse repeated on "Return of Unknown"
* "Move"- Verse repeated on "Legend of Jimmy Bones," "Rock Head" and "Return of Unknown"
* "Longbeach"- Verses or part of them repeated on "Flip Side," "Gangsta Love" and "Return of Unknown"
* "Foul Mood"- Part of verse repeated on "Cyber"
* "Cross The Line"- Verse repeated, with slight modifications, on "Sippin' on Some Moet"
* "Cyber"- Part of verse repeated on "Return of Unknown"

Schlimmer als Lil Dap...

Ich finde auch nur vereinzelte Features von ihm cool, seltsamerweise. Das ist so wie bei Jayo Felony. Da gefallen mir nur ein paar Features wirklich richtig gut. Ok, Jayos Alben gefallen mir auch teilweise, aber ich hab immer so den Eindruck dass er zu wenig draus macht. Zum Beispiel rappt er auf "Got Beef" von Tha Eastsidaz richtig hammer.
Bei RBX ist es imo genau so. Da fällt mir vom aktuellen Dogg Pound Album der Track "Bucc'm" ein. Da ist RBX wirklich super:
"What must we do to let you motherfuckers know, that we is the niggaz that started Death Row" usw.
Aber für das Album seh ich auch schwarz. Zwar kann Snoop hier und da nen korrekten Beat bauen, wie auf "Big Squeeze" bewiesen, aber das auch nur mit Hilfe von Terrace Martin und Soopafly. Und insgesamt sind sie einfach lahm.

Gerade gelesen dass RBX der Sohn von Bootsy Collins ist (Eric Collins) und der Cousin von Snoop und Daz (Eric Collins) und sein Name für "Reality Born Unknown" steht, stimmt das? Letzteres stimmt meiner Erinnerung nach, aber insbesondere die Frage ob er der Sohn von Bootsy Collins ist, würde mich ja schon interessieren...

da bin ich ja mal gespannt. fand die letzten alben von ihm net so den bringer. die ersten beiden (bzw. eine + zwei e.p.'s) finde ich ganz ok.

mit seinen featurings vor allem zu den top death row zeiten hat er sich hiroshima mässig eingebombt *grins*

Dubcnn sat down with RBX and Bigg Rocc, the Concrete Criminals, for a little sparring session.

In this exclusive interview, which took place just days before the historical Presidential Election, we talk with Rocc and RBX about a few things political, their relationship with the legendary west coast pioneer MC Ren, what it was like coming up during the NWA era, how Bigg Rocc and The Narrator formed the Concrete Criminals, and much more!


Many of you know RBX as an original Death Row Records artist who, along with Dr. Dre, Snoop Doggy Dogg and D.O.C., helped create one of the most successful black-owned music labels of all-time by writing on and appearing on Dr. Dres The Chronic and Snoop Doggy Doggs Doggystyle records, each of which sold multi-platinum. RBX has gone on to have successful solo career with the releases of the RBX Files, No Mercy, No Remorse, Ripp The Game Bloody, and The Shining. Hes also made several scene-stealing appearances on records like Dr. Dres 2001, Eminems The Marshall Mathers LP, Warren Gs I Want It All, Tha Eastsidaz Deuces N Trayz: The Old Fashioned Way, X-Clans Return From Mecca, MC Rens Ruthless For Life, and many more.

Bigg Rocc started his career in 1989, appearing in the videos for NWAs Straight Outta Compton and Alwayz Into Something, as well as several of Eazy-Es videos. Rocc has been featured on all MC Rens albums on songs like Gotsta Chill, You A Traitor, Mind Blown and countless others. Hes worked with a slew of west coast heavyweights over the years such as Snoop Dogg, MC Eiht, W.C., Comptons Most Wanted, Kokane, and Above The Law to name a few. Now, by reaching out to two of the hardest MCs the west coast has to offer to help form the Concrete Criminals, Bigg Rocc is set to reach all-new heights. From Roccs early affiliation with NWA and through the turmoil that surrounded Ruthless Records Death Row Records and the whole west coast over the years, Rocc has kept a watchful eye on the ever-changing landscape of this industry.

The Long Beach group FrattHouse, consisting of G.B. (the son of RBX) and E-Money (cousin of Snoop Dogg), last hit us with new music in September 2008 when they released New West which raised a few eyebrows when the duo used a part of dubcnn's Ice Cube interview, where Cube is asked about getting behind a new artist.

In that same update we released the single Hot For Real off the "FrattHouse University" album which is still scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2009.

We have just been sent a brand new track entitled "Am So Fly" which is also set to appear on their debut album "FrattHouse University." The song features Daz Dillinger and can be listened to and downloaded below.
