We did a search on our group name and this site came up . xnonamex mentioned a song that's on one of our projects and we were wondering how you heard of us (the post was last year) or if it was a coincidence . Any one interested on some dope east coast sh!t just look for Type Official, ILLType (from upstate NY), or W Steele on soundclick . Peace .

Welcome IllType, just tell us a little bit more about you guys, your music and what you are doing. I know that xnonamex mentioned two songs of you, "time" and "distance". Do you already have an album out on the streets? What's your sound like?

as far as i remember i was listening to a bootlegg (or was it an unofficial release?) "illtype - the distance"
well, there are several solid tracks (last message, more emotion, time, 2 tears in a bucket) (comparable to chicago conscious sound, dont know where your origins at ) and it was also worthwile to spend time with it
so tell us more about your plans and works, maybe i would be interested in coppin the "distance" album if there was a prospective release, yor site seems to be in the beginnings

I just found www.illtypemusic.com , is this their official homepage? They sell an album called "propaganda" there...

And I just googled and found that "The Distance" was the 2nd album from Illtype which got released somtime last year .

We're a group from upstate NY who've been doing our thing since early '02 . There are only 2 people in ILLType : Justice on the vocals and W. Steele on the beats . If we were to describe our sound we would probably call it raw; no gimmicks, just music .
We've released 4 projects . Our 1st project was an EP called 'Street Therapy' and a couple months later we finished our 1st full-length 'End of the Period' . After going on a year hiatus to do shows in Cali we came back to NY and did 'The Distance' @ the end of '03 . 'Propaganda' was our latest release which was completed last September .
Now we have formed an organization called Type:Official which consists of us, Broadway, Nittie Jux, and DJ Majic . We are currently in the middle of a full length project that we plan to release late this summer . We appreciate the support and thank you for showing interest in our music . Sorry the website isn't really up to par but we're working on that . We'll keep you updated . Peace .
