Die Jungs kommen aus Phoenix, wenn's nicht passt bitte verschieben.

Hab' mir mal ihr Album aufgrund des Preises geordert und find es doch schon ganz cool. Ist zwar nicht wirklich was neues, was die Jungs da bieten, mir gefällts aber soweit. Lief allerdings auch erst einmal durch...Vom Sound her schon sehr an JMT erinnernd, wen wunderts, sind sie doch ebenfalls auf Babygrande gesigned. Sonst weiß ich auch nicht wirklich viel, daher war ich mal so fresch und hab 'nen Wikieintrag kopiert.



The Society of Invisibles is a Hip Hop collective from Phoenix, Arizona. The collective is made up of three groups: Facecrushers Inc. (Judgement, Gutta, Nonsense , Veteran Virus, Joey Baggs, Species), Dark Water (Sunn Sunn , Indrid Cold, Jack Spairo), and production crew The Dead Beats (Erel the Rkatec, Plan B, Eddie Satan, Annex, The Premonist); two solo rappers: Terminator Tragic and Sneaky Pete; and spoken-word artist Rok. In 2006, the group signed to independent rap label Babygrande Records, making them one of the first Phoenix Hip Hop acts to receive national attention.

Recording History

After gaining regional notoriety in the Southwest, TSOI signed a record deal with popular independent label Babygrande Records in 2006, to distribute their music through their own Geist Audio imprint. Their self-titled debut album, The Society of Invisibles, was released on July 25, 2006, to mixed reviews. The album was panned critically, but was relatively well-received by underground Horrorcore fans. While the album did not reach any Billboard album chart, TSOI sold moderately well online, reaching the top 10 on the best sellers list at UndergroundHipHop.com in both July and August 2006.[1] The album was produced entirely by The Dead Beats, and featured the single "Dial M for Murder" b/w "Watching You". Music videos were shot for the tracks "Hack Pack" and "Watching You". Following the release, the group set out on a supportive tour, opening for groups like Wu-Tang Clan, Jedi Mind Tricks and Non Phixion.

TSOI is currently recording their second album, titled Episode 19, scheduled for release sometime in 2007 on Babygrande Records. Following Episode 19, a number of the group's members will split for separate projects, which include Face Lift by Facecrusher Inc., Silent Massacre by Darkwater, Robots from Jupiter by The Dead Beats, Trailer Trash by Sneaky Pete, American Gothic 2 by Terminator Tragic, and Strawberry Suicide Rok.

The Invisible Army

"Eye of the Invisibles" logoAside from music, the members of The Society of Invisibles created a "movement", called The Invisible Army. TSOI's website features recruitment for the Army, along with a mission statement, which states:

“ The Invisible Army is dedicated to the indictment and preservation of the hip hop nation through sound terrorism, guerilla warfare and all that's despicable. Turn what you love into what you do, a partnership with the invisibles will ensure that the degradation of the mainstream media and government with the element as a means of rebellion. The invisible army endorses responsibility, teamwork, leadership and loyalty.

Bin mir sicher das ein paar Leute hier das Album kennen, also bitte Meinungen dazu und zur Gruppe allgemein. Muss mir das wie gesagt noch öfters geben.

Fand es ziemlichen Standard, nix herausragendes. War aber glaube ich auch recht kurzwenn ich mich recht erinnere.

Wer gehört denn eigentlich alles zu der Truppe dazu? Hat einer von denen schon was solo rausgebracht?

Also kennen tue ich absolut Niemanden. Habe auch keine weiteren Informationen über die Myspace Seite herausfinden können.

Wäre auch etwas übertrieben was Solo zu veröffentlichen, wo man doch noch nicht mal viel von der Gruppe selbst gehört hat.

Manche Gruppen finden sich ja auch erst nachdem sie solo was veröffentlicht haben, wäre ja nicht ungewöhnlich gerade wenn die Gruppe so groß ist. War ja selbst beim Wu-Tang Clan so dass GZA schon vorher ein Solo-Album draußen hatte. Von den Jungs sagt mir aber auf die Schnelle auch keiner was...

Phoenix ist soweit ich weiß eher South, oder?

Album kenne ich leider nicht, fand das Cover immer interessant, bin aber nicht dazu gekommen mal reinzuhören. Werde ich jetzt aber nachholen...

Ich find die Jungs eigentlich ganz gut. Das Album hat schon seine Glanzpunkte.
Erinnert mich teilweise etwas an Brooklyn Academy.

Auf ihrer Myspace Seite gibt es eine Handvoll "neuer" Tracks, die ganz gut ins Ohr gehen.

Keine Ahnung, interessiert mich selbst. Irgendwo hatte ich sogar was von "Auflösung der Gruppe" gelesen. Aber wahrscheinlich Gerüchte. Auf Myspace steht ja nix in der Richtung.
