^^

I skipped through the album on youtube recently and was bored of every single track. But for some obscure reason he gained a new fanbase that cheers everything he drops ("K rino is the best artist wow he's like the wine the older the better...etc."). Good for him, but honestly: from a musical point of view, this guy is finished. He just sticks to repeating the same shit over and over again, it's plain annoying...

That's a hard "review" you just did. You should buy the CD and then give it a listen. If you feel the same way afterwards, then oh well.

To each their own. I like the album, there's some good songs on there. Not every song is "omg awesome!" but it's hard to get a 100% perfect CD.

I do notice the beats are not that "gutter" and "street gangster". They're more melodic and easy listening. This is only my opinion, maybe somebody else thinks the beats are gutter. No disrespect to K either.

I always say the same thing regarding SUC and other Houston rap. Talk about sipping syrup, smoking weed, ballin out of control, women and hos, blinging chains and jewelry gets old. Lil Keke, Fat Pat and Big Pokey were rapping about that 15 years ago. Etc.

Thanks for speaking the truth though. Speaking the real

Das sind ja tolle Aussichten

He still gets my respect on the business side though, like everyone who has built something on their own. I think not too many rappers ever made it out of Houston and he even performed in Australia and Finland. But it's obvious that he regressed musically. He doesn't vary his rapstyle like he used to, the beats are way to clean und exchangeable. Just compare his current sound to a song like "Why You Wanna Hate" feat. DJ Screw e.g. -- his old sound has a whole different tone to it.

Throughout the years I bought 90% of the whole SPC catalogue, so I'm not judging out of the blue here. Imho they failed to reinvent themselves, not to mention the 2nd generation of the clique. But like you said: to each their own. I just don't understand how you can buy 4 copies of an album like "Deeper Elevation". :king2:

Correction: I'm an SPC Groupie. I call myself an "SPC Whore" :fag:

That is, if you were speaking about me

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from in regards to the sounds of the music. You got to remember No Mercy was 13 years ago. Times have changed in his life and around the world. Maybe if his rapping and music was the same ole, same old since 1999, it would become boring. To some people, generating a different sound in your music is an exploration route. Maybe K-Rino got a lot more feedback about his new style, he wanted to keep at it.

Not insulting you, maybe you're the one who has changed about the opinion of K's music. People change over the course of 20 years (if you've been down that long.)

I know you have 90% of SPC's music. I have respect in you

Not sure what all "reinvent themselves" concerns. Do you think the Screwed Up Click has reinvent themselves over the past 15 years? A lot of the OG click has either died, changed clicks or stop doing music. I can hardly even listen to 2011 SUC. Not my style of music, I have changed over the past 10 years. I can only listen to 1995 Screw Tape Freestyles and early (1998 etc.) solo albums.

Who do you call "2nd Generation" SPC? Or are you implying they haven't really formed a 2nd generation click. They need new artists to better themselves, to reinvent the click.

I bought 4 copies of "Deeper Elevation" because 1) I'm an SPC Whore 2) I wanted to have 3 of my names on each CD. Colin, Boy C, and C 3) The 4th copy is for my brother. My brother automatically knew K-Rino was my favorite rapper. I wanted him to have his own personalized CD. Let him know why I like K-Rino. 4) Out of respect for K. He's an awesome guy and has always been nice to me. I wanted to give him a nice "pay day". He deserves more money than $10 USD (for one CD.)

Here's 4 copies of Time Traveler.
2 are original issues
2 are re-pressings

bdm,

I wasn't arguing with you, and I meant no disrespect. Hopefully you did take it that way :)

What makes you think that I'm offended? :D

Of course it would become boring if he never changed anything but I don't think that he evolved in a good way. But like I said: if his sales are doing good with the new sound, he would be stupid to switch back to some kind of retro style or something. I guess the biggest problem with the SPC is that they don't have a good in-house producer. Dope-E could fill this gap, but he also grew weaker since the first Terrorist album. They were ahead of their time in 1991 but you can't really claim that for 2011 lol

2nd generation means everybody that joined the SPC after 2000. You might be a SPC whore hehe but you can't deny that any of these freshmen is anywhere near Ganksta Nip's or Klondike Kat's classic releases. I'm not really into S.U.C. (anymore) but I think as good as every rap click from Texas has similar problems.

Ha. Well, I told you "maybe you're the one..." In an argument setting, that sounds sort of aggressive.

Gotcha. OK.

I miss the old retro style sometimes. The talk about robbing and violence, the way the style was back then. Think Brain Matter, Stalkin, Hands of the Grimm Reaper, War in South Park, Wreckless, etc.

I don't find Dope-E being a weak producer to this day. He's good in my book

Gotcha. Year 2000 was a while ago. I only saw the note of "2nd Gen SPC" in 2011. I think it was Sniper being called 2nd Gen. I might be an SPC Whore, but I'm still a noob compared to some people.

Yeah, Nip, Kat, and all the OG stuff.. classic indeed.

Ja?
