Hip-Hop veteran and celebrated actor Ice Cube is joining the ranks of Laurence Fishburne and Jeffrey Wright by being featured at this year's "A Conversation With…", sponsored by Time Warner.

"A Conversation With…" is a 45 minute on-stage interview with a celebrated actor that gives the audience a candid, penetrating, and insiders view into the art of acting.

The feature is scheduled to take place in on Friday July 15th at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington DC.

In related Ice Cube movie news, the rapper will soon start production on "The Extractors" and "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House," a remake of the 1948 comedy that starred iconic actor Carey Grant.

“We are going to make our version so fly that you won't even be able to tell it's a spin off of the old movie, because that film was made in 1948,” Ice Cube told AllHipHop.com. “We are in the process of writing it now, we haven't actually started production because we are trying to get the script right.”

The film is being directed by Steve Carr, who also directed Cube’s “Next Friday” as well as “Daddy Daycare” and a new movie starring Martin Lawrence, titled “Rebound.”

For just about a decade, Jay-Z and Foxy Brown have been known as one of rap's highest-profile Bonnie and Clyde pairings. But this year, the dynamic has changed just a little. Instead of being two friends signed to the same label, Foxy is now an artist on Jay's Roc-A-Fella label.

So how does President Carter handle working with Foxy now?

"Same way," he insisted recently. "One way. Whatever [my opinion] is, I voice it; if I don't like it or if I love it. The same way.

"I'm rough, I'm tough, but fair," he added with a chuckle.

Brown's Black Roses is almost done (see "Foxy Brown Planning Comeback With Help From Jay-Z, Shyne"), and its star says she's welcomed every bit of input from Jay.

"He's the cherry on the top," she said. "He'll come in at the end and say, 'This needs to be tweaked here. You need to say this like this.' Or 'You need more cadence.' "

"It's coming along just as I've imagined it," Jay said of the album. "We're going through it, we're having our clashes, it's all perfect. The music is coming out amazing, though."

So amazing that Hova has been inspired to rap on at least three songs with Fox. Even she's surprised by that.

"Jay wants to jump on every record," she smiled. "I'll come in the studio and I'll hear a verse [already recorded], like, 'Where did that come from?' But I love that. Jay is in a class by himself and doesn't easily get on people's records. For him to want to be such a part of my music means I'm doing a great job. There's definitely a 'Bonnie and Clyde' [part] four, five and six on my album.

"Nobody can touch the project without Jay's approval," she continued. "I told him the other day I'm still humbled in his presence. I'm honored to be around him because I learned from him something new every day. It takes a strong person to humble me. I've worked very hard. I believe in people that are genuinely for you and not just have hidden agendas. Jay is genuinely for Foxy. Our relationship supersedes music. We've been friends since I was a little girl."

Unlike the last regime that ran Def Jam, Foxy said, Jay-Z has encouraged her to pursue her heritage and explore her love of Caribbean music.

"The last album, Broken Silence, I did the reggae and hip-hop," she recalled. "My parents are Trinidadian, and that's my culture. I wanted to incorporate dancehall, reggae and soca into hip-hop. The powers that be at Def Jam weren't having it. I said, 'Screw y'all, I'm doing it anyway.' I did ['Oh Yeah']. [For this album] Jay said, 'You're the only one that can do that, let's stick with that.' "

Fox's first single is called "Come Fly With Me" and features dancehall legend Sizzla.

"I wanted to go to the left," Brown said. "Everybody expected a radio-friendly record, or a pop record, or a gutter record. ['Come Fly With Me'], it's rock, dancehall, hip-hop — you can't classify this record. Sizzla is one of my best friends, and he's the hottest artist in Jamaica right now. My brother did the beat. When I first heard the beat, I didn't understand it because there were so many things going on. And Sizzla just started 'Come flyyy with me.' I was like, 'That's it. Go in the studio, go do it.' I came with 'Nana got a new drop top. Come ride with me.' "

Black Roses is due August 23.

Over the past 15 years Anthony Smith (a.k.a.) Hobo Tone has been hard at work producing and rapping for audiences and artists throughout the Midwest. He has collaborated with artists such as Lil’ Flip, Spice 1, and Techn9ne and he’s opened for Ludacris, Lil’ Flip, Mya, Mystical, Eightball, Techn9ne, the late Biggie Smalls and KRS one to name a few. However, after touring with Techn9ne on the “Absolute Power Tour,” Hobo gained an even larger fan base and had an opportunity to deliver his message to thousands of fans throughout the country.

Hobo has just finished his new album Hood Boss . However, Kansas City’s premiere producer and rapper has found his voice in the industry and he’s nearing the top of his game. Smith is taking his music to another level by kicking out tracks for an upcoming independent film “Halfway Home” written by Vin Morreale of VSM Productions. After placing two of his beats on “Breaking and Entering,” a romantic comedy that was also written and directed by Morreale he was asked to contribute to his next project.

The new album Hood Boss features Lil Flip, Celly Cel, Tech N9NE, Hobo Tone (aka) Tony Smith, and Luni Coleone.

Nas recently dished out 2 MILLION DOLLARS (U.S.) for a beat from the Neptunes.

The beat is so great, that it had interest from Puff Daddy as well, in turn causing an all out bidding war for rights to the drums between Nas and Puffy.

Think two million for a beat is a bit pricey? Busta Rhymes, who has already heard the drums, thinks Nas payed what the Neptunes deserved for this one.

Busta Rhymes

"Nas can have it" says P. Diddy after Nas bidded 2 million for a new neptunes beat, which Diddy wanted to have.

"Im busy with recording my best album so far and money doesnt play a part", Nas explains.

The big audience will have to wait 2 month before they will be able to hear this pricy beat, but Busta Rhymes already said. "Ah shit, thats the craziest beat, I ever heard! Those drums man, Those drums are fire! If Nas is gonna rap to this beat, its going to be over. This will be the biggest hit in the history of hiphop!"

Für die Wu-Tang Fans, Nachricht von wutangcorp.com vom 11.06.2005:

Zitat:
We have exclusive updates on Ghostface, Raekwon, GZA/Genius, The RZA & Method Man.

First of all, the long awaited and most anticipated 5th Ghostface album is finally taking form. So far 18 songs have been recorded. Producers include MF Doom, Louis Parker, Wisemen, Pete Rock and Nottz. The RZA is also scheduled to contribute beats to the album at a later stage. The album will include a song featuring the entire Wu-tang Clan including vocals by the late Ol' Dirty Bastard [RIP], as well as a song featuring Ghostface's son by the name of Sun God. Ghost says he's happy at Def Jam and has described his relationship with Jay-Z (current President of the Island Def Jam Group] as a very inspiring and supportive one. The album is tentavily scheduled for a release in September, but most likely to change. Ghostface will also release a volume 2 to his '718' compilation on Koch Records later this year.

Raekwon's ten year anniversary sequel to the classic 'Only Built 4 Cuban Linx' is also in the making. Recently a song called 'Baggage Handlers' featuring Busta Rhymes leaked out to the net and was rumored to be produced by The RZA, a claim The RZA and Raekwon both denied. Not much is released about possible featurings and production, but it is confirmed that Dr. Dre has produced 2 songs for 'Cuban Linx 2' and The RZA is also scheduled to contribute heavily to the album. Raekwon has also recorded songs for the following albums by Jagged Edge, Lil' John and 8Ball & MGM.

GZA/Genius confirmed he finished his vocal parts for the tentavily untitled album he recorded with DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill. The album, which has not been given a title nor release date, will feature about 12 to 13 songs. GZA/Genius also has a mixtape being released on Babygrande in October which will feature much 'family' as he described it, as well as a minimum of four new solo songs. The 'Wu-Tang Revealed' DVD is currently on hold due to time restrictions and a longstanding editing process. New footage will be added to the final edit. No word on its release date.

Finally, The RZA who has confirmed forming Wu-Tang Latino, has been working immensly on the fourth Method Man album. Not much is known about the album except that both RZA and Meth are working hard and are being extremely picky on quality. RZA has also recently done an interview with Scratch Magazine tentavily for an August issue of the popular producer/DJ Magazine.

More exclusive updates next week on Inspectah Deck, U-God, Ol' Dirty Bastard [RIP] and Masta Killa.

Former Wu-Tang member Cappadonna has launched his own record label entitled Hood' LLC and is preparing a new solo album.

Cappadonna who was once a part of the infamous Wu-Tang Clan announced that his new album would be the first release under Hood LLC.

"I am looking at putting out a record around August," Cappadonna told AllHipHop.com. "It will definitely come with some originality."

For those wondering if he will re-unite with former group member and super producer The RZA for beats, it doesn't look like a possibility, although Cappadonna said there was no animosity between the two.

Cappadonna shocked the world in June of 2003, when the rapper resurfaced in Baltimore, Maryland as a cab driver.

The rapper explained that he intentionally gave up what material possessions he had amassed and walked the streets of Baltimore for 8 months, before returning to the rap game.

Shortly afterwards Cappadonna dropped his album, The Struggle.

For his latest untitled album, Cappadonna is seeking a new sound through new production.

"I am actually looking for new producers," Cappadonna said. "I want something fresh, something original to really capture my sound. I really want people to feel where I am coming from and to me the best way to capture that is to get someone just as hungry as I am, because I know they will not only feel the struggle but help to bring out the hunger in my music."

The untitled album is in the beginning stages and no release date was available as of press time.

After months of setting the streets & strip clubs on fire, Stat Quo's buzz record Like Dat, will make the video circuit. The video will be shot June 15th in Atlanta, GA by Mike Taylor (younger brother of famed video director Chris Robinson). Not many details are being offered about the shoot except that a large portion of the video will be shot where Stat Quo was raised, the Thomasville Heights projects, aka Zone 3.

In other news Stat Quo & Whoo Kid will be dropping a all exclusive Stat Quo mixcd within the next two weeks. Also expect Stat Quo & DJ Drama to drop a new mixcd, Gangsta Grillz Extra: Grown Man Music, this month as well.

Stat's album is 80% finished, once Dre finishes w/Busta, "Statlanta" will be tweeked, sequenced, & completed. With the record Like Dat doing as well as it is & the album still being made, we wanted to give Stat Quo a visual before his 1st official single/video is dropped.

Stat Quo fans will be able to see Stat perform live this summer during the Anger Management 3 tour (North America & European). Following Europe, Stat Quo will also hit the road for his "Underground Atlanta Mixtape Tour". The tour will penetrate the grimmiest hood clubs throughout the Southeast & Midwest region. Stay tuned for more dates & news later.

Rapper/actor Method Man has released a DVD on the underworld of strip clubs, titled The Strip Game, under Lions Gate Entertainment.

The documentary features a candid account with the culture and the girls who work within the industry.

“The reason I wanted to do this was to enlighten people more,” Method Man told AllHipHop.com. “I never looked at the girls in any kind of light.”

Rather than watching 72 minutes of nudity one would expect by the name and subject matter, Method Man said he wanted to show the stories of the girls, the people close to them and what drove their career choices.

“There are some girls that are really money hungry and don’t even work in the strip clubs,” Meth said. “And there are some girls that genuinely have a plan; this is their plan B because their Plan A didn’t work out, and their Plan C is to take that money and go to school with it.”

The story line digs deep into the hustling side of the profession and tells a story rarely heard.

While there is a story well beyond the surface, the novice filmmaker does admit to slipping in the occasional action scenes for viewers.

“Yeah I’m telling real stories, but if you pick up a documentary on strippers, you’re going to want to see some stripping, so we definitely got that in there,” he said. “But the girls with the most personality, the ones who had a brain in their heads, we followed them in their everyday life and that’s how the documentary kind of wrote itself.”

The Strip Game is in stores now.

This album is entirely produced by Paris of Guerilla Funk!
The album contains some of the best production i've ever heared and should be one of the best political albums to hit stores this year.

Dubcnn brings you the first single called "Can't Hold Us Back" featuring Paris and Kam!
