Jadakiss Officially Signs To Roc-A-Fella Records


After endless talks, SOHH.com has learned that Jadakiss is now indeed, officially signed to Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella Records.

Though details of the deal have not been revealed yet, a rep for Def Jam - the parent label of the Roc - said that the Yonkers-born MC is "definitely signed" to the Roc-A-Fella fold. Even though there had been some talks that since leaving Interscope Kiss was mulling over the possibility of heading down South to link up with Cash Money Records, the signing is not a surprise...

Jay-Z publicly admitted to trying to lure the raspy-voiced lyricist over to the label. Fans started to anticipate the announcement even more so after Jada made appearances on spot dates of Jay-Z's American Gangster tour as well as being seen throwing up the Roc hand sign in Jay's "Roc Boys" video.

Jada has not released a full length LP since 2004's Kiss Of Death.

Jadakiss Talks Roc-A-Fella Debut

D-Block rapper Jadakiss recently revealed his feelings on Jay-Z's departure from Def Jam, his disenchantment with the state of the hip-hop industry and details about his upcoming Roc-A-Fella debut.

"A change of pace," he said in an interview with The Come Up DVD. "The people like change. The fans like change. Not too dramatic but y'know, they like to see new sh*t and hear new sh*t and see new sh*t. It aint no different though. Different machine maybe but we've yet to see..."

The Yonkers emcee said he has about 7 or 8 songs in the can, but the album's not yet finished. He's holding out for some major production collabos.


"I still gotta holla at Kanye, Just Blaze, maybe Pharell, hopefully Dr. Dre, Toomp ... whoever got the f*cking heat man, Timbaland, Storch," he said. "I don't discriminate. If it's hot, let's have it."


Kiss is still toying with titles for the new disc, but said he's seriously considering Kiss My Ass.


"Nas is dropping N*gger, why I can't drop Kiss My Ass," he asked? "I think I might keep my sh*t. Kiss My Ass coming soon."


This will be the first solo album the rapper has released since 2004's Kiss of Death. When asked how the game has changed in those 4 years Jada held no punches.


"N*gga's is garbage," he said. "The game is f*cked up ... a bunch of ring tone, tight-pants-wearing motherf*ckrs. I'm just doin' me. The music is f*cking garbage, man. Kanye came out with hot music. He sold records. T.I., same thing. Alicia Keys, same sh*t. If your sh*t was hot and you had a machine, you sold records."


And for those whose number were lacking ...


"Don't blame nobody, just make better music, *ssholes," Jada said. "It's a business at the end of the day, so you can be mad at who ever but you gotta be mad at yourself. Either the music wasn't right or you didn't handle your business. It's as simple as that."


One hip-hop artist who did handle his business, according to Jada is Jay-Z. And Kiss is not mad about the mogul's departure from Def Jam.


"He tried his hand for a few years, he raped the budget, he got however much they was paying him and he stepped down," Jada said. "He got his masters, he doin' his thing. 40/40's in Vegas and all that, hotels, he good."


Jada said he's trying to release his new disc in May around Memorial Day, which happens to be the rapper's birthday.

Jadakiss Reveals New Album

D-Block rapper Jadakiss recently revealed plans to drop his third album Kiss My Ass around Halloween. In a brand new internet video shot by The Best of Both Offices, Jadakiss previewed a track from his upcoming LP which is slated to be released on Roc-A-Fella Records this Fall.
“Ya man is back. Sorry I took so long but I had to get shit right,” said Kiss.

According to Jada, he’s about 90% done with the follow up to his platinum selling sophomore album, Kiss of Death...




“We just doing the trimmings,” he said. “The cake is baked. We just putting the icing and the sprinkles… pineapples, whip cream."

In November of last year, it was announced that the New York based rapper had inked a deal with Roc-A-Fella/Ruff Ryders but Jada says he isn’t worried about having to split his potential earnings several ways.

“D-Block… Def Jam, Roc-A-Fella, Ruff Ryders, a couple white dudes, whoever got they hand in the pot, it’s all love. We gon’ eat. I’m gonna make enough for all of us to eat.”

After being quite vocal about his disappointment with his former label, Interscope Records, Jadakiss is looking forward to seeing what kind of push his new deal will give him. “I got the motherfucking machine behind me now… hopefully.”

Kiss My Ass will feature collaborations with Jay-Z, Young Jeezy and fellow D-Block rappers Styles P and Sheek Louch. “Kiss My Ass is coming, “ said Jadakiss. “We shooting for around Halloween… late October, early November. The sooner the better. Make sure ya’ll get that.”

Der Kerl hat auch mehr als eine falsche Abzweigung im Verluaf seiner Karriere eingeschlagen

Ein richtig geiles Jadakiss album ist glaube echt meien größte Wunschvorstellung , ich hät sooooo gern ein geiles album von ihm

Ist echt das Prolem bei ihm das nen paar Granaten bei sind dann aber wieder so unglaublich schwules, weichgespültes Zeug mit RnB Sängern und clubbigen Beats. Wenn ich da an das Mariah Carey Feature auf dem zweiten Album denke.

Obwohl der Track eigentlich noch geht, hab schon viel schlimmeres von ihm gehört.

Der Junge sollte mal einfach nen rohes Streetalbum auf einem Independent Label rausbringen wo er nur von seiner Hood usw. labert. Dazu schön produzierte Banger und ich würd mich sogar drauf freuen. Doch der Zug scheint ja schon lange abgefahren zu sein. Einmal Major immer Major sag ich mal.

wieso schau styles an... die letzten alben waren trotz independent-dasein, rohem straßenshit und soliden produzenten trotzdem scheiße
und dessen potenzial ist ähnlich groß

Sämtliche Styles Alben sind aber imo nie über das gute Mittelmaß hinausgekommen...

Eben, selbst das erste fand ich nicht so und von den nachfolgenden Alben hab ich schon vom Reinhören fast gekotzt. Selten so viele wirklich miese Beats auf einem Album gehört bei dem ein oder anderen Projekt von ihm. Obwohl ich Styles mag, aber das hat er für meine Begriffe nie auf die Reihe bekommen. Immer einzelne Tracks sehr gut, Mixtapes die ich kannte waren auch nicht von schlechten Eltern nur die Alben hat er verhunzt. Später hab ich mir dann schon gar nichts mehr angehört weil ich nichts mehr erwartet hab.
