Aftermathmusic hat ein Interview mit ihm gemacht...
Aftermath Music:
First off all thank you for doing this interview Knoc.
Knoc Turn'al:
No prob fam let's begin whenever you're ready.
Aftermath Music:
How did you get into the game?
Knoc Turn'al:
I got down with a production team, L.A. Confidential. They introduced me to Dr. Dre and I spit some rhymes for him and he said I was hot. (Laughing ) been down ever since. I aint have a demo or nothing.
Aftermath Music:
Your LP "Knoc's landin" was bootlegged heavy did that discoured you?
Knoc Turn'al:
I was flattered that it was bootlegged. You know that no one would bootleg ya shit if they didn't think it was hot. I was a little upset but I'm focusing on my new album, "The Way I Am".
Aftermath Music:
Let's talk about your new album, "The Way I Am"
Knoc Turn'al:
It drops Feb 24th. Well I got the single "The Way I Am" with Snoop Dogg. Request that on TRL,106 & Park and ya local radio station. Also involve is Dr. Dre of course, Scott Storch, Baby Ree Ent.,L.A. Confidential, West Coast Connection, Warren G, Nate Dogg and DJ Quik.
Aftermath Music:
What your opinion of West Coast hip hop not getting mainstream love?
Knoc Turn'al:
If it's a hit they will play it. There's no real base I know Nelly gets play in New York and he ain't from there. If your song is a hit it doesn't matter where you from. A hit is a hit. Also about getting no love. I been hearing recently a lot of producers coming out dissing Dre about not getting credit. Where was the complaints when Dre was putting out the hits? Now everyone got a problem. Maybe if men handle their biz better. Now, I remember Xzibit said on a record their was no West Coast without him. Nobody thinks that.
Aftermath Music:
I was about to mention that X was the only West Coast cat down with Dre not on ya new LP. Is there beef?
Knoc Turn'al:
I'm cool with X, but it's, because I had business dealing with him. Not may people know I wrote "Symphony In X Major" and didn't get taken care off by Columbia. Dre and Paul Rosenberg took care of it later, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. The thing is cats get lost in their own hype. He's not Xzibit that's a character. Dre aint Dr. Dre it's a character. Knocturnal is a character.
Aftermath Music:
Many were shocked that you still are cool with Kurupt after he went back to Death Row.
Knoc Turn'al:
Listen dude and we are friends. Just because he did something others don't like to feed his family don't mean I've got to stop being cool with him. We were together doing Chronic 2001 and I would be fake if I stopped been his friend cause he's over there.
Aftermath Music:
Who are you feeling right now.
Knoc Turn'al:
Me(Laughing), but honestly I know alot of people who be suprised I'm feelin 50 Cent.
Aftermath Music:
What other side projects are you involved with?
Knoc Turn'al:
West Side Connection, Boo-Yaa Tribe,I'm working with Baby Ree Entertainment. You know I'd like to holla at Ruthless Records about getting an unreleased Eazy-E verse. Eazy was a pioneer in this West Coast hip hop history and you got to give it up to him. I'm a real West Coast artist you can respected as a true West Coast emcee.
Aftermath Music:
Like other rappers I hear you're branch off into porn.
Knoc Turn'al:
(Laughing) yeah I got a porno DVD coming out on Fatt Entertainment where I'm kind of hosting it. I'm also going to be doing "The Buckwild Show" on Playboy TV. It's like a black "Girls Gone Wild" I'll be at the Adult Entertainment Expo signing and performing in Las Vegas Jan 8-11 so if you in the area come through and holler.
Aftermath Music:
What's your take on the Eminem tape where he used the "N" word?
Knoc Turn'al:
He's a grown man he can say what he wants. Why should we make a big deal about this. He's a rich man, so he can say what he wants in my book.
Aftermath Music:
Most rappers nowadays got a crew who's in Knoc's crew.
Knoc Turn'al:
L.A. Confidential. We got Timebomb, Who's Who (they were on Aftermath back in day on Dr. Dre Presents Tha Aftermath, plus a lot more acts. We're gonna be doing big things in the future.
Aftermath Music:
Have you thought of acting?
Knoc Turn'al:
I act every day ...
Aftermath Music:
Any parting word?
Knoc Turn'al:
