Twista Launches Label; New Speednot Mobstaz Album Coming


Chicago rapper Twista has launched a new record label, Get Money Gang (GMG) and will drop a new album by The Speednot Mobstaz.


The Speednot Mobstaz' Mobstability II: Nation Bizness is the first release for Twista's GMG label, which is distributed by Koch Records...




The group, which consists of Liffy Stokes and Mayz, will release the first single "Money To Blow" in the upcoming weeks.


The pair met Twista in the studio, when the rapper was recording his Atlantic debut Adrenaline Rush.


The Speednot Mobstaz released their debut album Mobstability in 1998.


The album produced the single "In Your World" and sold over 700,000 copies and is certified gold.


"The album is the streets just like the first one was," said group member Mayz. "We don't have to create a fake image; we just have to let our soul speak to the people."


Mobstability II: Nation Bizness features guest appearances by Twista and Jim Jones and production from Chicago producer Cuzzo and the team from China White Productions.


Mobstability II: Nation Bizness is slated to hit stores in March 18.

Twista & The Legendary Traxster to Reunite for Upcoming Twista Album


Yes, you read the above headline correctly. I just spoke with Traxster and Twista directly, who called to inform me they are currently working on a full-length album together. That’s right, the world can now rejoice as Traxster is set to produce Twista’s upcoming album in its ENTIRETY. I know people have been waiting many, many years for these two to get back together, so this is definitely big news for die hard fans of both parties. They are scheduled to hit the lab next week to break ground on the project.

In other Traxster news: The Legendary one just secured two separate digital deals for his upcoming releases. The first is with World Wide Digital and the other is with Digital and World Wide Retail. Do or Die’s Trunk Music has been pushed back until 11/3/08 in order to accommodate the new systems.
