Früher eine meiner Lieblings-Combos, war einfach erfrischend und mal was anderes dass die Jungs (MC Serch, Prime Minister Pete Nice und DJ Richie Rich) gemacht haben. Leider habe ich keine Ahnung ob die Mitglieder heute noch was machen, MC Serch hat aber wohl vor kurzem ein nur als MP3 erhältliches Album rausgebracht:



Sind wohl Aufnahmen von 1994, kennt das einer?

1992 hatten sich 3rd Bass aufgelöst, im Jahr 2000 gab es allerdings für ein paar Konzerte eine Wiedervereinigung. Weiß einer mehr darüber was die Jungs jetzt so machen?

Bestes Album für mich klar das erste, ne Menge Hits drauf (auch wenn ihr größter Hit, der Vanilla Ice Diss "Pop goes the wheasel" auf dem 3. Album war), gebe ich mir auch heute immer noch gerne...

Die Gruppe ist irgendwie voll an mir vorbeigegangen, ich kenne auch nur das "Cactus Album". Die hingen ja auch mit KMD ab, und deren Sachen haben mir immer ganz gut gefallen. Kommen die da ran?

Ist schon etwas anders vom Stil her, fand 3rd Bass vom Sound her immer deutlich auffälliger, aber auch massentauglicher. Raptechnisch waren die m.E. nix besonderes, da hatten KMD schon mehr drauf. Verbinde mit dem Cactus Album aber auch einige "Kindheitserinnerungen", das Album hatte mir ein Kumpel damals auf Tape überspielt und ich habe es geheiligt und bestimmt jede Woche fünfmal gehört...

Kann mich noch daran erinnern, dass mich "Derelicts of Dialect" damals ziemlich geflasht hat.

Das scheint mir ja ein ziemlich überflüssiges Format zu sein. Aber was Prime Minister Pete Nice macht, weiß auch keiner ?

Da ich gerade mal wieder 3rd Bass höre, grabe ich den Thread nochmal aus. Hat jemand mittlerweile das MC Serch MP3 Album gehört?

Die Songs würd ich echt zu gerne mal hören , von 1994.Ich finde die Return of the Product schon so geil da würde mir die 94er hier bestimmt noch mehr zusagen.

Habe das Video jetzt nicht geschaut, aber eigentlich sind auch noch Red Hot Lover Tone und Nas dabei...

Genau. Und Chubb Rock eben auch, dessen Part ich fast noch geiler finde als den von Serch. Und Nas betieb schon damals lyrischen Feinschliff, der ihm in der Folgezeit viel Respekt einbringen sollte.
