Erfreuliches gibt es aus New York zu berichten. Die beiden Underground-Superstars MF Doom & MF Grimm sind nach langer Zeit der Missverständnisse wieder down miteinander. Mit den bzw. als Monsta Island Czars (M.I.C.) waren die zwei Emcees noch zusammen als Crew unterwegs. Doch dann kam der Split. Grimm musste wegen Drogen- und Waffenhandels drei Jahre hinter schwedischen Gardinen weilen.
Wieder mal waren es die finanziellen Unstimmigkeiten, die zum Streit führten. Doom brachte seinen Longplayer "Operation Doomsday" 2000 nochmal heraus. Grimm agierte dabei als Executive Producer und pumpte ebenfalls Dollars in das neu aufgelegte Album. Geld schien an ihn nie zurückgeflossen zu sein. Während Grimm seine Zeit im Gefängnis absaß, avancierte Doom zu einem im Underground gefeierten Artist und tourte durch die Welt. Grimm fühlte sich von ihm im Stich gelassen. Doom fand allerdings nur, dass man sich in der Zeit komplett auseinandergelebt hatte. Daraufhin Grimm:
"I consider him a brother to me, and it shouldn't have gotten to the point where it's at. Sometimes the line of genius and acting crazy is so thin, you might fall over the line and need someone to bring you back."
Am Sonntag, den 1. Februar veröffentlichte Percy Carey alias MF Grimm, der übrigens seit einer Schießerei im Rollstuhl sitzt, dieses Statement:
"I need to set the record straight, there's no problems between DOOM and I. I understand in the past things were said back and forth but that is the past, so if anyone approach you and ask about a war between MF DOOM and MF GRIMM
Please tell them what I just stated; if they don't believe you, just send them here to read this; that goes for anyone else in M.I.C. who people might think we're beefing. I'm on a path to become a better person, it's the only way the creator will allow me to enjoy the benefits of life. I'm about to apply for college, and attempt to get a degree in marketing, I'm also donating my time to the local zoo, because of my fascination of studying orangutans; my goal is to create a story about them and other great apes and turn it into a graphic novel. Demnach kann man hoffen, dass man endlich wieder gemeinsame musikalische Arbeiten beider Akteure beziehen kann.
naja, bei dem was Grimm so geliefert hat die letzten Jahre ist das nicht unbedingt hoch auf der Liste der sachen die ich mir wünsche, aber soll schlechteres passieren...
Grimm will marketing machen? das ist wohl nix für ihn, sonderlich gut waren dessen marketing Strategien ja nie

Lex Records veröffentlichen. Als Gäste konnten
Raekwon, Tony Starks und
Kurious verpflichtet werden. Für die Produktionen wurden alte
J Dilla (RIP) Arbeiten benutzt. Außerdem zeigte sich auch
Danger Mouse für den instrumentalen Hintergrund verantwortlich. Der erste Leak in Form von "Ballskin" kann
hier angehört werden.

warum denn schon wieder alte Dilla beats? Das ist doch jetzt eine Ente oder? Wer will denn bitte die leftovers der leftovers hören? Was anderes kann bei Dilla ja nicht mehr da sein. Lasst den Typ doch endlich in ruhe, hat zu Lebzeiten gute Beats gemacht, nur das nach seinem Tod mehr kommt als davor ist definitiv nur noch für den Arsch

Das von ughh geht, aber ist nicht so geiler Doom Style wie man es gewohnt ist. Ballskin und Thats That sind schon sehr fett :thumbright:
