Jern Eye feat. Rakaa Iriscience, Nightlcubber Lang & Noelle Scaggs - Champion (Prod. by Illmind)
Jern Eye has been steadily building his buzz with a slew of releases off his upcoming sophomore release Vision. With response to the new album remains strong from fans and critics alike, Jern hasn't been resting on his laurels, soaking in the accolades. Instead, Jern has put in serious work, creating a 20 track pre-album mixtape titled The Eye Exam featuring a number of unreleased, rare, and remixed tracks with a few joints from the album thrown in for good measure.
With the mixtape's first release, "Champion," Jern sets things off right. !llmind is at the helm, and his masterfully produced strings and hard drums lay down a perfect backdrop for the three emcees to get to work. Rakaa Iriscience from Dilated Peoples sets the pace, stepping up to the plate first and delivering as usual. Jern Eye spits next, continuing to display a lyrical prowess, with lines like "Persevere through the elements / Rain homey, killing sh*t / Visualize the pinnacle, see myself living it." Add Noelle Scaggs for a flavorful hook, round out the song with a stellar verse from Nightclubber Lang of Boom Bap Project and the formula for a head-nodding track is complete. Jern Eye's newest album, Vision, will be available October 13th via MYX Music Label.
