Beat geht für mich auch klar, der Rap allerdings nicht. Für mich ist Bishop Lamont ohnehin ein wenig überbewertet. Kann seinem Stil nichts außergewöhnliches abgewinnen.

Dr. Dre Releases Bishop Lamont From Aftermath

Bishop Lamont has been released or dropped from Aftermath Records, the label founded by Dr. Dre.

At press time, the reason for the severance was unknown, but the separation occurred Thursday or Friday, according to sources.

While there is significant speculation, insiders said that Lamont did not see the move coming...

There as been no statement or official response from Lamont, Dr. Dre or Aftermath.

Bishop Lamont, real name Phillip Martin, signed to Dre's Aftermath Records in 2005 after meeting the iconic producer in the set of a video shoot. Lamont had been one of Dr. Dre's most ardent supporters and often served as the reclusive producer's mouthpiece.

Lamont does not presently have a recording home, but rumors have already begun to circulate that he has been courted by 50 Cent and his G-Unit Records. There has been nothing to substantiate those rumors at press time.

Das systematische Verheizen von Künstlern seitens Dr. Dre und Aftermath Records geht weiter. Diese Labelpolitik stinkt mittlerweile zum Himmel.

Insofern dadurch ein qualitativ gutes "The Reformation" eher das Licht der Welt erblickt - halb so schlimm. Für Bishop tut es mir aber schon Leid. Hat Dre und Aftermath die ganze Zeit immer zu 100% supportet und geduldig gewartet. Naja, wie pstizzo schon sagte...

Bishop Lamont: A Free Agent

Every 6 months rumors made the rounds, now Bishop Lamont confirmed that he is no longer signed to Aftermath. After dropping hit singles like "Grow Up" and "Hallelujah", the label failed to follow up with the highly anticipated album "The Reformation" or even shoot a video. "After 5 years of sitting there, it becomes like my album is "Detox". Like, when is it coming? I can't afford that kind of situation" Bishop said in an interview on the All Out Show on Shade 45.

We'll have to wait and see what the future holds for the Carson native, but this can only be a good thing from a fans perspective. Bishop sure ain't gonna record another 700 songs and release none of them.....

And while we're at it: Bishop later appeared on Whoo Kid's show and let loose a new laid back cut called "Yank". Keep 'em coming in Bishop!
