Kool G Rap, has recently received a lot of press in light of accusations made by former girlfriend, Karrine "Super Head" Stefans, of abuse, but the hip-hop legend is preparing to make a comeback and has been in the studio working on a new album and mixtape.
Although, a new album is in the works, G Rap is mostly focusing on his forthcoming mixtape, entitled Top 5: Dead Or Alive with former Shady Records DJ, Green Lantern.
So far, the rapper is being tight-lipped about the features of the new street album, but says there will be a lot of unexpected collabos hip-hop fans will be surprised about.
"I have some good features on the mixtape, as well as some very credible producers," Kool G Rap told BallerStatus.net. "I don't wanna say a whole lot, as far as the features, because I want to catch people off guard."
As far as production, the Green Lantern-assisted mixtape will feature production from Scram Jones, Yogi, and D.R. Period among others. Unlike most mixtapes, the 18 track will include 90% of all original songs and production with a few freestyles included.
The Top 5: Dead Or Alive mixtape has no street date as of yet, but is expected to drop "very soon", according to the rapper.
Kool G Rap is currently a free agent, as far as being sign, but he is weighing his options and continues to be patient until the right deal comes along.
"Na, I haven't signed with a label yet," G Rap explained to BallerStatus.net. "It's still kind of early in the game and I know a few dudes have their eye out for me, and they are curious to see what happens. Because they see me bubbling up under the surface, and I have proved that G. Rap can rise from complete silence to stirring up the waters again."
Aside from his solo career, the rapper is working with his own 5 Family Click group -- Nino Bless, Catalyst, Ma Barker, 40 Cal Hammerz, Big Ez and Manslaughter -- which dropped their debut in 2003 on the rapper's own Igloo Entertainment.
