After feuding for years, Queensbridge lyricists Nas and Cormega have apparently called a truce and are planning to work together in the near future...

Rumors recently began spreading that Mega was slated to appear on Nasty Nas' forthcoming effort, Nasdaq Dow Jones. Though he denied the rumors, Mega confirmed that he and Nas were once again on good terms. In a message posted on www.cormegasite.com's forums, Mega Montana told his fans that he and God's Son have made peace and were hoping to collaborate on future projects.

"To be honest Nas called me around the time my grandmother died and he said what he had to say about our differences and that he wants to put it aside etc. I let him talk and for the 1st time he sounded sincere. But me and son will meet up face to face soon and then decide what's good but he do wanna fuck with me because we got history!" Mega wrote in the message.

Cormega is one of the original members of The Firm, the super group that also featured Nas, Foxy Brown and AZ. Mega was eventually replaced by Nature.

Tension between Mega and Nas soon followed. While their relationship was rocky, the feud escalated with a series of disses in songs and interviews. Mega released the single, "Fuck Nas and Nature" while Nas took shots at Cormega and Prodigy on "Destroy & Rebuild off 2001's Stillmatic.

There's good news about Cuban Linx [Part II]. While various producers, including Dr.Dre and Nottz have laced Raekwon with beats for the highly anticipated album, it is The RZA who will now be responsible for 90% of the production...

Other good news is that all of the Wu-Tang Clan members have returned to their infamous Wu-Gambinos characters for the album including GZA/Genius as Maximillion who has been recording many songs with Raekwon lately. Busta Rhymes is still involved as an executive producer.

Another special appearance on Cuban Linx [Part II] comes from Red Hot Chilli Pepper guitarist John Frusciante who has been camping in RZA's studio for a few days. RZA and John reportedly recorded five beats together but where they will end up remains uncertain. Daron Malakian, guitarist of System Of A Down has also been in RZA's studio for a few days recording up to 10 songs with RZA.

Method Man is back in the lab writing after recording 8 tracks with RZA. There's no word on his release yet. On a brighter side, Inspectah Deck has been in LA recording with RZA after a 3 year break from working with eachother. Masta Killa is finishing up his second album with at least 5 beats produced by Bronze Nazareth.

On the movie side of things we can report that RZA will defenitly start shooting his movie 'The Man With The Iron Fist' in October. The movie will be a tribute to the old school Shaw Brothers movies that inspired the Wu-Tang Clan in their early days. One of the 'Five Deadly Venoms' actors is scheduled to make an appearance in the movie. More information is to follow...

Atlanta hip-hop duo.

"Badd" has hit the #3 spot at CHR/Rhythmic and #16 at Urban radio.
"Shake," the high tempo third single features labelmate Pitbull from "U.S.A.
and has already bulleted into the top 20 at CHR/Rhythmic radio. The "Badd" companion video is a Heavy rotation smash at BET, where it has been a top-played clip for nearly two months. popular UPN show, CUTS. They will play two guys who set up online dates with girls just so they can sleep with them. They set up dates with "Candy" (Shondrella Avery) and "Faith" (Beatrice Rosen), but once they meet the girls and realize they're classy and that they might actually have to take them to dinner, the guys immediately cancel the date and leave. The Atlanta duos current smash album U.S.A. was entirely remixed and retooled by acclaimed underground mixmaster Michael 5000 Watts, incorporating the psychedelic sound of screw to create an all new musical experience. The new version, U.S.A. (United State of Atlanta): Chopped and Screwed was released on August 9th.

U.S.A. (United State of Atlanta), the Collipark/TVT Records release hosts a diverse lineup of guest appearances from Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Anthony Hamilton, Mike Jones, and labelmates Teedra Moses, Pitbull & Jacki-O. The entertaining 23-song collection starts off strong with All Good Things (Intro) and sustains its delight through the album-closing Wait (The Whisper Song) Remix² with Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, Lil Scrappy, and Free (from BETs 106 & Park). ³U.S.A.² casts a wide net that is sure to reel in more fans. And just one listen to the arresting lead single, Wait, and youll remember how no other group can bring any dance floor to a fever pitch like the Ying Yang Twins.

Lynwood's own Gangsta of The Comrads and from The Sweat Hoggs is in the studio as we speak working on another solo album called Criminal Minded. Fans will recall his previous release Penitentiary Chances released about a year and a half ago.

The album is being overseen by West Coast legendary Producer Sir Jinx.

We haven't forgotten about the Sir Jinx/Tri-Star collabo's that we've reported about previously. It is coming up.

In '86 he let you know about... Rumors (Timex Social Club). In '96 when you needed it he said,... I Got Five On It (The Luniz), and now in 2005, Mike Marshall sings his own song. Keeping his name buzzing and appearing on such singles as "It's Over" with PSD and appearing on such compilations as Sick Wid It Umbrella and various Million Dollar Dream compilations, the soulful voice of the Bay Area is ready to tell his own story now, and its one of "Love, Lies, and Life". This October 18, Mike will make his presence felt even more when his new solo album is available to the world. Featuring the single Thinkin About U, as well as collaborations with San Quinn, Saafir, Equipto, Grouch, Eligh and many others, the musical backdrop provided by Sean T, Thomas McElroy, and of course Nick Peace.

We have two tracks for you to hear, the first one up is the first single "Thinkin Bout U" produced by Thomas McElroy and then we have the song "The Takeover", a collaboration with Equipto.

Def Jam president/CEO Jay-Z is not resting on his laurels. The artist tells Billboard he is mulling the creation of the label Def Jam Left, which he describes as "an artist-driven label with very low deals so people are not pressured by first-week SoundScan [sales], so we can build artists." Jay-Z is also hoping to make the Roots the first signee to the imprint...

"I'm talking to the Roots right now," he adds. "I'm confident to put out there that we might make this happen. The label would probably begin at the top of the year, but I hope to have the Roots signed by the time they get off their international tour."

In late April, Roots drummer ?uestlove told Billboard.com the group was about 60% finished with a new album, "Game Theory." The set is tipped to feature a collaboration with Black Star's Mos Def and Talib Kweli called "Where I Come" and another song with just Mos Def, "Workin' on It." The Roots were previously signed to MCA and then Geffen.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z admits he is wrestling with whether to remain retired as an artist. His last studio set was 2003's "The Black Album," but he has since popped up on occasion as a guest on songs by Kanye West and Young Jeezy, among others.

"You all are hearing things from me -- you just haven't heard an album," he says. "Who knows? I'm still going in the studio, getting on remixes and things like that. But it's the people. When people want something bad enough, it happens. And they want it bad (laughs). I'm trying to hold out, but I don't know how long I can."

JT The Bigga Figga Named President Of Rap-A-Lot West Posted on Tuesday, September 13 @ W. Europe Daylight Time by Emil

Bay Area rapper and Get Low Records CEO JT The Bigga Figga has been named President of the newly launched West Coast operation of Rap-A-Lot Records.

Rap-A-Lot West is preparing to release an upcoming project that will feature Scarface, E-40, Mike Jones, JT The Bigga Figga and others due out in December.

"It was crazy, J-Prince [James Smith, owner of Rap-A-Lot] called me at like 3 in the morning with the idea," JT told AllHipHop.com. "Everyone saw what I did with the Game and finally realized that my talent is not only as a producer/artist but also an executive."

JT is referring to superstar Compton, California rapper The Game. JT is largely credited for discovering the rapper at Russell Simmons’ Hip-Hop Summit in Los Angeles in 2002.

JT signed The Game to record “as much material as possible” prior to The Game recording his blockbuster, The Documentary for G-Unit/Aftermath/Interscope.

“I knew if the right amount of money was behind him that he would definitely become a star,” JT stated.

Thus far, The Game’s deal with JT The Bigga Figga has produced three releases: West Coast Resurrection, Untold Story and Untold Story Vol. 2.

In between running his own label, Get Low and the new job at Rap-A-Lot West, JT has also launched Get Low Latin.

"I really felt that it was time to put out something to support my brown brothers," JT said. "It's not like this is something new because I put out a black and brown record a while ago to embrace Mexican Hip-Hop, so we have been doing this for a while. I just finally decided to launch a label to house it."

With the launch of Get Low Latin, JT stated that he is looking for unsigned talent to sign to the new label.

“If anyone wants to send me their demos, email me and I will definitely respond back," JT said. “I have people out there looking for talent but I also like to search myself because you never know what someone will over look."

Kool G Rap Prepares New Mixtape With Green Lantern
By Jay Casteel, Bill "Low-Key" Heinzelman
Monday - September 12, 2005

Kool G Rap, has recently received a lot of press in light of accusations made by former girlfriend, Karrine "Super Head" Stefans, of abuse, but the hip-hop legend is preparing to make a comeback and has been in the studio working on a new album and mixtape.

Although, a new album is in the works, G Rap is mostly focusing on his forthcoming mixtape, entitled Top 5: Dead Or Alive with former Shady Records DJ, Green Lantern.

So far, the rapper is being tight-lipped about the features of the new street album, but says there will be a lot of unexpected collabos hip-hop fans will be surprised about.

"I have some good features on the mixtape, as well as some very credible producers," Kool G Rap told BallerStatus.net. "I don't wanna say a whole lot, as far as the features, because I want to catch people off guard."

As far as production, the Green Lantern-assisted mixtape will feature production from Scram Jones, Yogi, and D.R. Period among others. Unlike most mixtapes, the 18 track will include 90% of all original songs and production with a few freestyles included.

The Top 5: Dead Or Alive mixtape has no street date as of yet, but is expected to drop "very soon", according to the rapper.

Kool G Rap is currently a free agent, as far as being sign, but he is weighing his options and continues to be patient until the right deal comes along.

"Na, I haven't signed with a label yet," G Rap explained to BallerStatus.net. "It's still kind of early in the game and I know a few dudes have their eye out for me, and they are curious to see what happens. Because they see me bubbling up under the surface, and I have proved that G. Rap can rise from complete silence to stirring up the waters again."

Aside from his solo career, the rapper is working with his own 5 Family Click group -- Nino Bless, Catalyst, Ma Barker, 40 Cal Hammerz, Big Ez and Manslaughter -- which dropped their debut in 2003 on the rapper's own Igloo Entertainment.

You thought it was only Tha Dogg Pound that was coming back? Hell no, Long Beach's own Soopafly, who has spent most of the last years on tour with Snoop Dogg, is back with his newest single "Bangin' West Coast". He just dropped it on me to let ya'll peep it out. Dubcnn exclusive, I thought you knew?

I'm feeling this one, a very energetic song, they're white labeling it right now and it's going to be various radio mix shows. He's representing the West Coast to the fullest on this one, the chorus goes:

"I stay back in the days, with the Spades, the Eazy's, Dr. Dre's, with the House Parties jumpin' on the block, all night long like fuck the cops! I keep bangin' West Coast!"

'Nuff talking, download the song below and judge for youself:

Soopafly - Bangin' Westcoast (Prod. by Soopafly)
